Features of the Octet® Platform
Label-free assays measure molecular binding through real-time protein interactions. It is a precise and efficient means of collecting a wide range of information related to affinity, kinetics, concentration, thermodynamics, bio-similarity, specificity, potency and selectivity of molecular binding.
Octet® is a powerful platform designed to understand structure-function relationships between molecules, and it can be applied at many different stages throughout the drug development process.
Fluidic-free Octet® BLI assays are ideal for measurements in crude and complex matrices for instance titer and concentration analysis as well as screening for Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) early in cell line development and bioprocess development workflows.
On the other hand, working with challenging analytes such as small fragments in FBDD, low affinity molecules or high affinity binders require a higher sensitivity that only Octet® SPR technology can offer. The patented OneStepTM gradient injection generates unique curvature to accurately detect full binding kinetics (kon, koff and KD) from a single concentration.
Label-free BLI and SPR are used from screening (at the very early stages of drug discovery) to identifying and engineering potential binding candidates, supporting clinical evaluation and finally during quality control(QC) of GMP manufacturing.
